The ML675001 has a single 16550 type serial port complete with FIFO. This port is used as a console port by the bootloader and uCLinux. The port is level translated to RS232 signals by a MAX3243 device. The port is switchable from the buffered outputs to the unbuffered LVTTL levels by using the SERIAL_EN line.
