ABLE Application README - blank ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Summary The `blank' tool is used to erase the contents of any I2C attached EEPROM device in ABLE. After use, the EEPROM will be full of 0xFF bytes. Typically this tool is used to purge all settings, branding and SBCD information from EEPROMS during board production, however it can be used by anyone to reset an EEPROM if they require it. Usage > blank [--sbqs] (device)... Example To blank the EEPROM containing the MAC and NVRAM settings on most Simtec Electronics boards you can execute: > blank (24cxx0) Options The --sbqs option asks the blank tool to produce output more suited to mechanical translation into another user interface. It can be used, for example, to drive progress bars in a more user-friendly application which is in control of the serial port.
