ABLE Application README - batty ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Summary The `batty' tool is the bring up and test tool for Simtec Electronics boards. It tests the CPU core, memory sections, Ethernet controllers, serial ports and various other parts of the hardware and ABLE's interface to it. The default mode of operation with no switches is to perform tests on every class of hardware. Not all hardware devices have a direct test. Some core devices may appear twice. An example of this would be the core CPU tests, these are run once before all the other hardware is probed as an issue with the CPU core would render all further testing irrelevant, the CPU core appears for a second time when the system bus is scanned and is not tested a second time. Usage > batty [--nomem] [--nonet] [--nocore] [--novideo] [--noadc] [--nocpld] [--noextserloop] [--noserial] [-s | --sbqs] [-i ] Options --help Show basic help message and exit. --version Show batty version and exit -s --sbqs Enable SBQS formatting mode -i Adjust the indentation level when operating in human readable mode. --nomem Do not perform the memory tests. --nonet Do not perform networking device tests --nocore Do not perform core system tests --novideo Do not test video devices --noadc Do not test the ADCs --nocpld Do not test the core system logic --noextserloop Do not test the serial external loopback --noserial Do not test serial devices Example To run all the tests: > batty To omit the memory block tests > batty --nomem Copyright The `batty' tool and all associated documentation is Copyright 2005-2007,2008,2009 Simtec Electronics
