-l
Long listing giving more information.
-a
Listing includes all files.
directory
Directory to list.
This command produces a list of all the files in a given
directory, if no directory is specified then the present working
directory is shown. Example 56, “Using the cd and ls commands to navigate a filesystem”
shows the listing of the PWD
.
Listing the “root” directory (ls /) is the same as the lsfs command and lists all the available filesystems.

This shows a simple directory listing of the first hard disc partition with a filesystem.
